Before the Dark Age, before the Blakist War, before the Clan Invasion, there was the Star League. Uniting all of humanity under its banner, this powerful empire was the most prosperous in History, its military might measured not in Battlemechs, but in Warships.

 

Gargantuan slabs of armor covered in batteries of advanced and highly destructive weaponry, these vessels roamed the stars and brought devastation upon the enemies of the Star League. At the peak of their era they were built in the hundreds, serving as the sharpest spear and most brutal hammer in any war. However, the terrible civil war that broke the Star League, and the Succession Wars that followed, took a toll on these mighty vessels. By the dawn of the 31st century they were all but gone, save for a few secretive holdouts in the Sol System and in the Deep Periphery, where the newborn Clans bid their time, unwittingly laying the seeds for a new era of the Warship yet to come...

 

As you may have noticed, I love the warships of Battletech. It didn’t take me long to start making them after I’ve launched my blog. It wasn’t a seamless process, as I had to change scale a couple times until I found my stride. The 1 stud equals 100m scale in construction bricks seems the ideal, which is more wargame-friendly if you’re so inclined. More importantly for me, they are easy to transport, sturdy, and will look good in any shelf, big or small.
